Urban Villager is a mission-locked, triple-bottom-line, housing company which enables front-line workers, who are the fabric of our communities, to live and thrive in the cities in which they work. We help people and the planet to thrive together. We do it by developing and managing build-to-rent communities in urban centres close to employment hubs.

Financial Return

Returns differ for equity and debt holders. For debt, this is 6% during construction, 3.1% to hold. For equity, this is 9-10% IRR at exit, depending on exit terms.

Social Return

 At Urban Villager, as the mission-locked developer-operator, we build for human happiness, sustainability and financial returns. Our target group are front-line workers on low to moderate incomes who need stability in order to move forward. We also have a vested interest in the long-term success of the project with both an ongoing ownership stake and the property and community management once construction is complete. We’re committed to this build-to-rent project for the long haul. We create a beautiful, sustainable and happy place, where people are valued, and where people want to live. That people-first approach makes for steady and secure returns to the impact investment community. We are not a social housing provider. Instead, we provide quality affordable housing designed to foster community using our Urban Village model.
